Avis Renting Guide - Terms & Conditions

The renter and additional drivers must be between 23 and 70 years old and in possession of a valid national or International Driving License. Other nationals who hold a valid driving license in English can drive in Malaysia for a maximum of 3 months. Probationer driver license holders will not be accepted. An international driving license is also required if the renter or additional drivers' license is non-roman alphabet.

Avis accepts the following credit/charge card: America Express, Diners Club, Visa and MasterCard. A credit card from a major credit card company will be required for security when renting a car and will need to be in the name of the principal driver. We are unable to accept Electron or Debit Cards. Upon collecting the vehicle, we will require an imprint of your credit card and you are required to sign a blank credit charge slip. This is for any incidental charge.

Rates include unlimited mileage, maintenance, passenger liability protection and insurance cover of third party property damage up to RM3,000,000.00 and unlimited for third party bodily injuries.

EXCESS CLAUSE
Super CDW reduces the RENTER's excess when accepted with CDW. In the event the RENTER sustains damage to Avis vehicle and the RENTER is found to be not at fault by the authorities, they are only liable to pay the reduced excess clause (see below):

SCDW and CDW coverage will only be applicable subject to the compliance of a police report in reference to the damages sustained to the vehicle. Should the RENTER be found negligent and summoned by the relevant authorities, the RENTER is liable to pay the total damage cost.


THEFT PROTECTION (TP)
In the event of theft, the RENTER will be liable for the market value of the vehicle. This amount may be waived if the RENTER did not contribute to the theft through negligence (after police investigation and with police report) and accepted TP.

All vehicles are provided with a full tank of petrol and must return the same. For vehicles not returned with full of petrol, a refuelling service charge will apply.
AVIS cars are filled with unleaded petrol.

The renter is liable for all parking and traffic summonses incurred for the duration of the rental. An additional RM50.00 administration fee will be charged to the renter over and above any fine and penalty cost for any violation arising from renter's use of the vehicle. Avis retains the right to charge against the renter's charge/credit card, if and when any payment for traffic offences commited during rental is received, after the termination of rental.

Should you wish to extend your rental beyond the original termination date, it is important that the renting station be advised immediately and the required advance paid so that insurance cover is extended. Failure to do so may mean the Renter is driving the vehicle without insurance.

Upon return, the car has to be in the same condition as when it was rented. Failing which, the renter will be liable for the cost of restoring the vehicle to it's original condition.

A sum of RM100.00 will be levied for check out and collection of vehicles, after business hours, inclusive of Sundays and Public Holidays for all locations nationwide.

Avis is unable to guarantee a specific make or model. Please note that bookings can only be made by vehicle group and subject availability.

The rental vehicle is normally only insured for the person who makes the rental. If others plan to drive the car, they must be present at time of rental to be added to the Rental Agreement, subject to presenting a full driver's license that has been held for at least one year. There is a fee to cover insurance for each additional driver over the duration of the rental.
RM10.00 per person, per rental will be charged. All additional drivers have to be registered at time of rental and must meet Avis qualification standard. 5% government tax is applicable.

Child seats and satellite navigation normally is available upon request at an extra cost. Details are available upon request.

If you indicate on your Wizard/Preferred profile that you will accept specific additional optional insurances when you pick up your car, these will be processed at time of rental and are not included in this price unless indicated by the inclusions shown.

Should the vehicle returned at a different location, one way rental would be applied. Details are available upon request.
